The Institute for Music and Development (IMD) contributes to the evolution of a professional and vibrant music industry in Ghana and continues to play a pivotal role in the development of a self-sustaining music industry network in Africa through advocacy, documentation of traditional and contemporary music styles and their dissemination through the electronic media as well as production of Audio visual material, human resource and institutional capacity building and creation of network opportunities.
The Refugee Rights Project offers crucial legal services to the growing number of refugees and asylum seekers in South Africa. It gives LLB students are the opportunity to study refugee and immigration law, and master's students have the opportunity to study refugee law and human rights. The Project has a facility for research and publication, and it is furthermore an instrument for advocacy, whereby legal assistance is offered to the general public when necessary.
Scalabrini Centre perceives migration as an oppurtunity, and offers programmes dealing with welfare, training and assistance to the migrant and local communities of Cape Town. It provides access to local services through referrals to schooling, bank accounts, health care, legal representation, qualification accreditation and social assistance. The Centre receives around 700 people each month.
